Coronavirus and the Church

Church family-
Life has been changing with every news update over the past few days. I dearly love and appreciate each of you. I  want you to live with hope in the midst of uncertain times. We are in uncharted territory as a world, a nation, a state, community, and a church. The good news is we know and follow the Creator of this entire universe.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.
-II Timothy 1:7

Our tech team has been working on a new website and improved media resources to include live streaming in the near future as we relaunch with the new name of Wiregrass Church. With all of the changes over the last week, we want to have this technology ready as soon as possible.

As of right now, we will plan to have services this Sunday at 10:30 AM but we will evaluate each week for the near future. If we need to cancel services before Sunday, we will send out another message. If you are not comfortable with attending the service this Sunday, I completely understand. If you are not feeling well, please err on the side of caution for those who are more susceptible. We will substitute our normal greetings for waving, nods, distant fist bumps, and a few air high fives. While many larger churches are moving to only live streaming this weekend, many smaller to medium size churches are planning to meet. If the state requests all gatherings to be cancelled, we will abide by that request. I read a satirical article that said the virus is an answer to prayer for introverts! While we don’t want to be flippant about the seriousness of the situation, we want to find humor and enjoy the life God has given us. Even though the thief has come to steal, kill, and destroy; Jesus has come to give us life and even more life than we can ever imagine. (John 10:10)

Lord willing, the message will be titled, “Uncharted Territory.” A fitting response for this season and many more seasons to come.

Much love, hope, and gratefulness-
Pastor Carl
